• The Deputy Piping Head supports the Piping Head in planning, coordinating, and supervising all piping construction activities on the project site. The role ensures that piping fabrication, installation, testing, and pre-commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements. The position involves close coordination with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and commissioning personnel to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities 

• Assist the Piping Head in managing all piping construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with project-specific HSE requirements, procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Supervise piping fabrication, installation, testing, and reinstatement activities in accordance with approved procedures and project specifications.
• Monitor daily construction progress and support the achievement of project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate site activities with engineering, procurement, quality, commissioning, and HSE departments.
• Review construction drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, support drawings, and technical documentation to ensure proper field execution.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of piping construction, testing, and work-pack procedures.
• Support the management of subcontractors and ensure work is performed in accordance with project requirements.
• Participate in construction planning, resource allocation, and workforce management activities.
• Monitor material availability and support effective material control and distribution to construction teams.
• Assist in preparing fabrication and installation work packs and ensuring their proper implementation.
• Support flange management activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
• Assist in conducting Galperti ovality checks before and after hot work activities and coordinate corrective actions when required.
• Oversee installation of pipe supports in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Support the preparation and execution of hydrotest packages and test packs based on project documentation.
• Assist in managing flushing, hydrotesting, drying, cleanliness verification, reinstatement, and mechanical completion activities.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams during leak testing, system verification, and system handover activities.
• Maintain accurate records of construction progress, manpower utilization, equipment usage, and project issues.
• Identify construction challenges and support the implementation of practical and effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements throughout construction activities.
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on piping construction status and progress.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in piping construction within the oil and gas industry, including offshore and onshore construction projects.
• Proven experience in piping fabrication, installation, hydrotesting, mechanical completion, and commissioning support activities.
• Good understanding of international piping codes and standards such as ASME, API, and related specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, support drawings, GA drawings, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of welding processes, material traceability, flange management, and piping quality control requirements.
• Experience in work-pack preparation, construction planning, and system handover processes.
• Familiarity with hydrotesting, flushing, drying, reinstatement, and mechanical completion activities.
• Good understanding of construction interfaces with civil, structural, mechanical, and E&I disciplines.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise site teams and subcontractors in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with Navisworks and familiarity with Primavera P6 will be considered an advantage.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Knowledge of site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessment practices.
