- To check the availability of the services;
- To ensure the sustainability and defect-resistance of the database services;
- To ensure the improvement of and support of Azerconnect databases;
- To upload, configure, assess and update RDBMS and relevant products;
- Accountable for leading the design and implementation of complex database schemas, tables, procedures, functions and views, ensuring alignment with the company’s data needs and standards;
- Responsible for collaborating with senior DBAs to develop strategic database solutions and mentoring middle and junior DBAs in database development best practices;
- To perform and ensure the safety of the database (create and maintain users and roles, assign the privileges);
- To plan the growth and amendments (personnel quantity planning);
- To ensure the capacity planning for the database;
- To manage the amendments and versions;
- To optimize the databases and ensure the most productive operation by developing views, indexes and other database objects;
- To develop and maintain the flawless database architecture;
- Accountable for regular monitoring and analysis of database performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks;
- Responsible for developing and implementing performance tuning strategies in collaboration with DBAs;
- Provides guidance to middle and junior DBAs on query optimization and indexing techniques to ensure optimal database performance;
- To review, improve, test and perform the restoration procedures for Azerconnect databases;
- Ensures robust data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans are implemented and maintained;
- Accountable for maintaining data integrity and security through rigorous validation, verification, and auditing processes;
- Collaborates with senior DBAs to establish and enforce data security protocols and trains middle and junior DBAs on these measures;
- Responsible for developing and executing data migration strategies for integrating data from acquired companies, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime;
- Leads ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, providing direction and support to middle and junior DBAs;
- Ensures cross-functional team collaboration to understand and fulfill data integration requirements;
- Acts as a key point of contact for database-related issues, providing expert-level support and troubleshooting;
- Accountable for collaborating with software developers, data analysts, and other IT professionals to design and optimize database solutions;
- Mentors middle and junior DBAs, fostering a collaborative team environment and promoting knowledge sharing;
- Responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for database systems, including design specifications, data flow diagrams, and operational procedures;
- Ensures generation of detailed reports and provision of insights based on data analysis to support business decisions;
- Ensures DBAs adhere to documentation standards and contribute to maintaining up-to-date records;
- To arrange and maintain the documentation and standards;
- To ensure the documentation of the amendments and changes to the database;
- To ensure the documentation required by the sub-section manager of the IT database management;
- Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies;
- Stays updated on emerging data privacy laws and regulations, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance;
- Works with senior DBAs and line manager to train middle and junior DBAs on compliance requirements and auditing processes;
- Stays informed about the latest trends and advancements in database technologies and best practices;
- Evaluates and recommends new database technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness;
- Encourages continuous learning and professional development among middle and junior DBAs;
- To actively support colleagues and team members in BaU operations;
- To escalate the events and defects to the sub-section manager of the IT database management/ section manager of the corporate IT services operations.
Tələblər
- A bachelor’s degree in the technical field or IT is mandatory;
- 8+ years of experience in database management;
- Deep knowledge and practical experience with databases;
- At least 8 years of experience in IT system administration;
- Proficiency in English, Russian, and Azeri (reading, writing, speaking);
- 4+ years of experience in management within complex environments;
- Extensive experience in change and release management and ITIL frameworks;
- Certified administrator or professional in database management;
- Practical experience in database installations on Microsoft, Solaris, and Linux platforms;
- Intermediate Linux skills (including bash scripting);
- Excellent collaboration skills, particularly on technical matters;
- Knowledge of general network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSI Model;
- Experience with Oracle Grid Control and/or other monitoring tools;
- Knowledge of memory system architecture and cluster solutions;
- Experience with WAN/LAN technologies, server virtualization, storage, security technologies, and databases;
- Experience in troubleshooting;
- Deep knowledge of emerging IT technologies
- Knowledge of how IT supports corporate and business segments;
- Experience in diagnosing, eliminating, and restoring issues in Windows and Unix-based systems;
- Experience in Windows 2012, Windows 2019, Linux operation systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Suse), Solaris, BSD systems;
- Knowledge of network security systems (firewalls), routers, DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, IPs, and information delivery products;
- Knowledge of data storage networks and protocols (FCP, FCIP, FCoE), multichannel technologies (MPIO), and storage devices;
- IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, iSCSI,Experience in Windows 2012, Windows 2019, Linux operation systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Suse), Solaris, BSD systems);
- Knowledge of the OSI model;
- Always ready to perform duty responsibilities;
- Knowledge of the data processing center environment.
