Quarry Operations Engineer to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our limestone quarry. The role ensures safe, efficient, and sustainable extraction practices while consistently delivering the required material quality and quantities to support plant production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement mining strategies to optimize resource extraction and extend quarry life.
• Design and monitor bench geometry to ensure slope stability, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage and interpret block models to align production with geological resources and plant needs.
• Conduct and oversee sampling and quality control to ensure materials meet specifications.
• Plan and supervise blasting operations, ensuring safety, precision, and cost efficiency.
• Use quarry engineering and design software (e.g., QSO Expert, AutoCAD, Surpac, or similar) to prepare 3D models, technical drawings, and operational plans.
• Oversee topographic surveys, maintain accurate maps, and update quarry records.
• Collaborate with processing plant teams to deliver the right material quality and volumes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Train and mentor quarry staff on operational best practices.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in quarry operations or open-pit mining, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/engineering role.

Technical Knowledge:

• Bench design and blasting techniques
• Quarry planning and resource management
• Block model interpretation and geological analysis
• Material quality management in cement, aggregate, or construction industries

Software Proficiency:

• QSO Expert or equivalent quarry operation software
• AutoCAD, Surpac, or other 3D modeling/design tools
• GIS/Topographic survey tools

Other Skills:

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of English
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and quarry maps
• Effective leadership and communication skills

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in quarry engineering design and geological mapping.
• Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in mining operations.
• Proven record of coordinating quarry operations with processing plants to meet production targets.
