Bahar Energy Operating Company (BEOC) a SOCAR Group entity, is seeking a Wells Director to provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for well-related activities in a major redevelopment project and follow-on operations. This role is accountable for drilling, completions, well intervention, and well planning teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of wells that maximize production and reservoir recovery.  

  • Lead multidisciplinary wells teams to deliver project commitments on time and within budget. 
  • Oversee planning and execution of drilling, completions, and well intervention programs with strong risk management and quality assurance. 
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory performance.
  • Ensure well designs are technically robust, economically viable, and aligned with reservoir management plans.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching, development and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, bid proposals, and contractor / subcontractor performance.
  • Maintain effective relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with company objectives.  
  • Encourage open communication and integrity across the organization.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion within the wells team.

Tələblər

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related-discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in drilling and completions, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles within E&P and/or oilfield services.
  • Expert knowledge of API, IADC, and other relevant industry standards, with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing integrated management systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering results and overseeing complex, high-risk operations.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Extensive experience working in multicultural environments and leading cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant industry/business systems (e.g., ERP, drilling databases, operational management tools).
  • Practical experience in operations transformation and business process redesigning is an advantage.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications (e.g., IWCF Well Control) will be considered an advantage.
